How To Attract Employees To Your Business

When you’re hiring, you want to attract the best employees to your business. The more people you get applying for the role, the pickier you can be about the talent you employ. However, you won’t have access to the best talent if you don’t offer applicants something special. And, making your business a wonderful place to work isn’t just beneficial for potential employees, it’s also wonderful for present employees too. The happier your employees, the higher the staff retention rate – which is a selling point in itself. If you can prove to the future talent that you run a desirable place to work, you’re one step ahead. So, here’s how you can attract employees to your business.

Clearly advertise company values

Clearly addressing your company’s mission statement and values in your job advertisement is a great way to attract new talent. Be proud of the way you treat your employees and use it to sell your company. Your company values should include a bit about what you do, some key facts, and what it’s like to work for your company. If you’re transparent about who you are – people will flock.

Benefits and perks

A job market is a competitive place for employees and employers alike. With many businesses upping their game to focus on employee wellbeing, you must stand out from the crowd.

According to a survey conducted by printing specialist instantprint, almost half of those they spoke to (44%) said that the majority of perks and benefits don’t fit their needs. So, with this in mind, it’s good to look at what others are doing wrong to see what you can do better.

Clearly stating the useful benefits and perks employees would get if they worked for your company. instantprint surveyed 1000 people and asked what their most valuable employee benefits were. And, flexible working hours came out on top, with 45% of people saying that was the most important thing to them.

Interestingly, employees’ need for flexibility continues into where they work. With 32% of people looking for a flexible working location. Since the pandemic, many more companies are opting for a hybrid approach – very attractive to those who’re looking for a healthy work-life balance.

Health-related benefits also came out on top, with 43% of people looking for dental care and 31% of optical/eye care.

Social media

Social media is the perfect way to showcase your company’s culture and values. With so many of us having at least one form of social media, using it to attract talent gives you access to a larger pool of people than your website alone.

Posting pictures and videos on social media helps potential employees see a different side to your workplace. Sharing the social side of your workplace can be appealing to future talent as it helps them get an idea of the people they’re working with. Plus, this helps with attracting certain types of people you’re confident will fit into your team.
