People sometimes wonder how a guidance computer in Apollo 11 – a computer with less memory than Windows 10 – reached the MOON!
The answer is pretty simple – It didn’t waste any of its memory on fancy interfaces or multi-tasking!
Does this teach you anything? The whole point of telling you about the computer used in Apollo 11 was to make you see how even a simple computer performs efficiently.
If we can manage our Windows 10 system, we can get that extra performance out of it.
Today, we will discuss the things you can do to enhance the performance of your Windows 10 system.
Windows 10 Running Slow: Follow These Steps To Make It Faster
It is inevitable that all computer systems will experience performance problems at some point. With time the software application you are using in your system becomes more demanding. This puts your system under a lot of pressure.
This is when your system feels sluggish or shows a performance drop. While you can upgrade the operating system to make it faster, you can do a few things to boost the performance.
Follow the steps to enhance your windows performance.
Step 1: Get Rid Of Pre-Installed Bloat
For starters, your system might be feeling overwhelmed by all the pre-loaded applications and their data.
When you download any software application or tools from websites like the pirate bay, you get the application and the data you would never use.
This is popularly known as Bloatware!
Bloatware might not be harmful to your system, but they sure eat away a lot of space from the system.
To avoid bloatware taking away all your memory for saving useless data, you first need to uninstall unnecessary applications and delete all the data related to them.
Follow the steps to do it efficiently.
- Go to the start menu.
- Navigate to settings.
- Scroll down to app features.
- Select the application you do not need.
- Click U install.
Step 2: You Do Not Need Two Antiviruses
Windows comes with its own inbuilt antivirus called Windows Defender. They are capable of doing anything antivirus software can do.
So, installing antivirus software doesn’t make any sense. It only further drains your system performance and memory.
If you truly want to keep your system safe from any viruses and spyware, simply ensure to avoid any dodgy applications and dangerous links.
Step 3: Update Your Windows Version
If your system is slow without any issue, perhaps you are running an older version of the Windows operating system.
You may not realize this because Windows updates are not that frequent. Hence, it is easy to miss out on Windows updates when a new version rolls out.
Check your windows version and see whether or not you are using the latest Windows operating system.
- Go to the startup menu.
- Navigate to Settings.
- Scroll down and click on Update and Securities.
- There, you will see whether or not you are using the latest version.
Step 4: Check The Startup Software
Most people think that leaving a startup application makes things easier for them. After all, you do not have to open the software after starting up the system – The system does that for you.
Well, this might seem convenient to you, but you are missing one thing. This whole startup software increases the workload of your system, making it slow and sluggish.
Remove all the startup software and open the software you need once the operating system is ready to work. This will make your system smoother.
Step 5: Clear The Storage
Finally, clearing up the system storage.
Most people simply use the system to store all their data without going through the old data. Unfortunately, this fills up the system storage with the data they don’t need.
When there is less memory to work with, the system slows down to hint that storage is running slow.
If you are experiencing a lag in your system or feeling sluggish, simply dealing with slow computer performance will not help.
Go through the features of your system and the software application you are using. Sometimes, the minimum system requirement of the software surpasses what you have under that hood.
If that happens, you might have to upgrade some of your system features.
